YATHRIB
THERE came in Mecca a caravan from YATHRIB. The inhabitants of YATHRIB
were poor and were oppressed by the rich and powerful Jews.
Muhammad (p b u h) went to them and preached the religion of God.
They accepted the great religion and requested the prophet to come
and live with them. They knew that to have the prophet among them
was to prepare a bed of thorns for themselves. Muhammad (p b u h)
sent his followers to YATHRIB and they converted the people to Islam.
After that he went to YATHRIB and selected his friend ABU BEKR accompany
him.
ABU BEKR the devoted friend was the proudest heart in Arabia. Muhammad
(p b u h) had selected him as his solitary companion on his way to
Medina (YATHRIB).
When the KAFIRS of Mecca heard of Muhammad (p b u h)’s impending
success in Medina they again flared up and decided to murder Muhammad
(p b u h)’s in his bed. They selected one man from each tribe
for that devilish deed, so that BANU HASHIM may not claim revenge
from any one tribe.
